Legends of Amberland is a well-regarded series of retro-styled pixel art RPG titles that hark back to the glory days of first-person adventures such as Might & Magic and Wizardry. Now, developer Silver Lemur Games has announced the third title in the series, subtitled The Crimson Tower. The game will use the same premise as previous titles in the Legends of Amberland series, but will add new features and design elements.
It will continue the turn-based gameplay for combat and movement, as well as the open world structure that will include fast travel options. Players will lead a party of 7 adventurers, manually assembled or pre-made, on an epic adventure to fight the evil that lurks in Amberland. The game was designed to look and feel like one of the old games while working flawlessly on modern machines, especially on very high resolutions.
According to Silver Lemur Games, Legends of Amberland III: The Crimson Tower is a “light, fairy tale, epic, heroic, and slightly humorous. It does not take tons of hours to complete or require an endless grind to progress”. There is no set date for the game to release, although there is confirmation it will be available on GOG and Steam very late in 2025.
