Sweet Fightin’ +2 is a fan port of Capcom’s seminal arcade fighting game Street Fighter 2, for 128K models of the 8-bit ZX Spectrum home computer.
While the ZX Spectrum did, unbelievably, receive an official port of Street Fighter 2 via publisher US Gold back in 1993, like the rest of US Gold’s home computer ports of the game, it was not well received. Now, over 30 years later, the unofficial fan port of the game, Sweet Fightin’ +2 shows just what the humble 128K ZX Spectrum could have been capable of when it comes to Capcom’s arcade classic!
Sweet Fightin’ +2 offers all 12 of the game’s original characters, which, impressively, means that the four bosses are also playable characters!
The game includes both one-player and two-player modes, with the following control options: keyboard; Sinclair joystick (ports 1 & 2); and Kempston joystick.
Sweet Fightin’ +2 has been developed for 128K ZX Spectrums by the ZX Spectrum homebrew coder ZXPresh, who has made the game available to download from itch.io as both a .tzx file for use on ZX Spectrum hardware, and as a .tap file for use with ZX Spectrum emulators.
ZXPresh says that Sweet Fightin’ +2 was developed in honor of Street Fighter 2’s 35th anniversary.
