Announced during yesterday’s Summer Game Fest, Resident Evil Veronica is a forthcoming remake of Resident Evil – Code: Veronica, which was originally released on Sega Dreamcast back in 2000, before receiving ports to PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, GameCube and Xbox 360.
Capcom says that the new game: preserves the essence of the original game, while introducing modernized gameplay, a reimagined storyline, and vividly detailed graphics,” adding that: “In 2027, madness and intrigue, love and hate all combine to create a chilling new entry in survival horror.”
The game stars “fan-favorite heroine Claire Redfield,” and, according to Capcom, it will: “draw players into a desperate escape filled with horror and madness through the isolated, zombie-filled Rockfort Island. Developed on the RE Engine, the game will introduce modernized gameplay with a chilling level of realism designed to push survival horror to new heights.” Eeek.
The Resident Evil – Code: Veronica remake, titled simply Resident Evil Veronica will be released by Capcom next year on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, until then, you can find out more about the game at the official Resident Evil Veronica website.
