We were excited to report on a new release of Terranigma a few weeks ago. Now, alongside the digital release, set for January 14th, 2027, publisher Clear River Games has announced three physical editions. All the physical editions are available to pre-order now for Xbox, PlayStation 5, and Switch on the Clear River Games’ website.
The standard edition of Terranigma includes the game and a reversible cover designed by original Terranigma artist Kamui Fujiwara. A steelbook edition is also available, which has more new Kamui Fujiwara artwork as well as a special sleeve. Serious fans and collectors will no doubt be interested in the Gaia Edition. Specifically, it includes an Art Book, an Enamel Pin, an Original Soundtrack CD featuring a select list of songs from the game, a cloth world map, a music box that plays the song “Elle”, and a Yomi figure.
The game was originally released in 1996 as one of the last SNES titles. It didn’t make it to North America, though, as developer Square had closed its offices in that region before the game was due out. The new version brings a host of upgrades to improve upon the original experience, but will still stay true to the original vision.
