Castlevania fans will want to take note, as Chronicles of the Wolf, a new action platformer from developer Migami Games, has a new Steam demo to try. The Castlevania-inspired title was announced earlier in 2025 and is now set for release on June 19th, 2025, for PC (Steam), Xbox, Switch, and PlayStation.
In Chronicles of the Wolf, players take control of Mateo Lombardo, the last apprentice of the Rose Cross Order, on a quest to hunt the infamous Beast of Gévaudan. This dark and thrilling platforming adventure blends fast-paced combat, challenging exploration, and deep storytelling, making it a must-play for fans of the genre.
The game has some real talent behind it, including cutscene narration from Robert Belgrade, known for his voice roles in Tekken, Castlevania and Mega Man. Chronicles of the Wolf also features a special guest appearance from Bloodless, a favourite character from Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, voiced by Kira Buckland. The retro-style soundtrack has been composed by Jeffrey Montoya and includes a guest track by Óscar Araujo, who received acclaim for his Castlevania: Lords of Shadow soundtrack.
Chronicles of the Wolf looks set to be a great homage to the classic 2D Castlevania titles and has all the ingredients to become a cult hit. From what we can see in the trailer, everything from precision platforming, monster battling, secret discovery, and weapon upgrades is present.
