A new Carmen Sandiego game has been announced for multiple platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android. This upcoming game is a single-player puzzle-adventure relaunch of the popular edutainment series from the 1980s and 1990s. It is based on the recent Netflix animated series that ran from 2019 to 2021. The game will first launch on Netflix in the first quarter of 2025, followed by releases on other platforms later in the same quarter.
In this game, players will take on the role of Carmen Sandiego herself, shifting the gameplay perspective from chasing her to being her. The game will feature a story-driven campaign and classic modes, allowing players to engage in espionage and use high-tech gadgets to thwart the evil organization V.I.L.E. The game will also include a mode called “The Acme Files,” which pays homage to the original Carmen Sandiego games, and will feature hidden Easter eggs for nostalgic fans and followers of the Netflix series.
