Nothing screams retro more than a glossy magazine, and Ninsight is the latest one launched by Ninty Media, which previously released a rather good book about the GBA. The magazine has been brought together in conjunction with the release of the Switch 2 and will replace Ninty Media’s previous Switch magazine, Switch Player. The first issue is up now for pre-order on a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.
The new look magazine was born off the back of a test issue, Ninsight #0, that came in a book form in early 2024. Since then, editor Paul Murphy has developed the concept and brought the idea together with the Switch Player magazine to create an all-encompassing Nintendo publication. Ninsight will be bigger compared to Switch Player, being A4 instead of A5, and will have more of a premium feel as well.
While most of Ninsight will feature coverage of the new Switch 2 and original Switch titles, Paul Murphy has confirmed that there will be coverage of Nintendo games of old, where appropriate. We surmise that this will probably be coverage of new releases to the Switch Online Service, where all our favourite retro titles now live. So, get your orders in, there is a physical mag option as well as a digital one for you future types.
