Nintendo World Championships NES Edition #21 Announced

Nintendo has announced Competition #21 for the Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, currently available to Nintendo Switch Online members. This competition, which runs until December 9, 2024, features five specific challenges from classic NES games. Participants can test their speedrunning skills in the following challenges:

Sub-Space Exploration from Super Mario Bros. 2
Step It Up from Super Mario Bros.
No Bones About It from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
Elevator Blitz from Metroid
World 1 Wizard from Super Mario Bros. 3

These challenges are part of the World Championships and Survival modes, where players can compete against others globally or locally. In World Championships Mode, players aim for leaderboard positions in rotating weekly challenges, while Survival Mode pits players against ghost data of others in an elimination format. The Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition game offers over 150 challenges across 13 classic NES titles, allowing players to relive memorable gaming moments and compete for personal bests or against friends. The game is available for purchase on the Nintendo eShop, and a Deluxe Set with additional collectibles is also offered for fans who want a physical keepsake.
