Cathedral: Crow’s Curse is a new pixel art action game from developer Decemberborn Interactive due for release on Steam and GOG in 2026. A brand new gameplay trailer gives us a further glimpse into what we can expect by revealing the map system, ranged combat, and artifact upgrades. It was released during the Best Indie Games Winter Showcase, offering the most detailed look yet at the game’s exploration and combat systems.
The new trailer showcases how Cathedral: Crow’s Curse builds on the core design of the original game with a stronger emphasis on fluid traversal, combat depth, and world exploration. It offers a first look at how these expanded systems reshape the gameplay experience, as well as teasing new dangers awaiting players within the Shade Forest and other unexplored regions.
Key features:
Engaging, skill-based combat. Fight powerful foes, learning their moves and patterns. Combat in Crow’s Curse is fast and fluid and demands precision. Time when to dodge, when to parry, when to strike back, and when to deal critical damage.
A seamless world to explore. Like its predecessor, Crow’s Curse features a carefully hand-crafted world — this time more seamless and connected than before, making exploration feel both immersive and uninterrupted.
Stealth mechanics. Not every fight has to be loud. Sometimes sneaking past enemies, or sneaking up on them and landing a backstab, can be just as satisfying. Enemies react to sound, sight, and even touch, so stay quiet, stay hidden, and strike fast!
Tons of upgrades. Find powerful items, unlock skill trees, and gain new movement abilities.
