We love our retro shooters at Retro News, and StarLightRiders: HyperJump, from developer LunarCitySeven and publisher EastAsiaSoft, has been on our radar for some time. The pixel art shmup is due for release on PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on November 19th, 2025, priced at a budget-blasting $4.99. Players will take command of the HyperJump ships and blast through swarms of alien invaders. They’ll also charge their warp engines by collecting reactors, but the enemy strikes back harder the stronger they become.
Other gameplay mechanics in StarLightRiders: HyperJump include switching shot types on the fly, unleashing screen-clearing bombs, and chaining combos for maximum destruction. There will also be epic bosses in intense vertical-scrolling action, all driven by light narrative transmissions. There was also news of other EastAsiaSoft shooter titles getting release date confirmation.
