Retro Horror Revival: “Alone in the Dark” Returns to PS Plus Premium

Sony recently revealed the three PlayStation 1 classics that Premium PlayStation Plus members can play from April 16. This top-tier subscription is all about retro gaming, giving members a chance to dive back into some of the greatest titles from the iconic PS1 era. These nostalgic games join the revolving roster of classics updated monthly for Premium subscribers, with April’s additions exclusively from the PS1 catalog.

 

The April 2024 additions to the PS Plus Premium lineup feature the titles Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, Star Wars: Rebel Assault 2 – The Hidden Empire, and MediEvil. Surprising subscribers, Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare was the unexpected game this month, marking its return since its original 2001 release. As the fourth installment of the series, Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare received a mixed reception when it first came out, yet it remains a memorable classic for some fans.

Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare” comes just as a fresh “Alone in the Dark” title hits the PS5. It’s a great throwback for fans. Premium members can play it starting April 16 with their subscription. Keep in mind, these are the classic PlayStation versions, so they don’t have new extras like trophy support. Plus, Premium members get all the Essential and Extra level games, including the latest ones for April 2024.
