The debut episode of the Knuckles-centered TV series from Paramount is now streamable for no cost on YouTube. This six-episode arc takes place in the timeline between the second and third Sonic films and made its initial premiere solely on Paramount+ a week prior.
Starring Idris Elba as Knuckles, the series sees him guiding Wade, played by Adam Pally, in the traditions of Echidna warriors. The episodes are under the direction of Jeff Fowler, who is recognized for his work on the Sonic film franchise. While the series had a promising beginning, some reviewers have pointed out issues with unneeded story padding and an overemphasis on product integration.
The franchise began with the first Sonic movie in 2020, pulling in nearly $320 million worldwide, and the subsequent film in 2022 which surpassed $405 million in earnings.
Fowler confirmed that filming for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 finished in late March, with its theatrical release scheduled for December 20, 2024.
